Academic Teaching Hospital of the Universities of Vienna and Innsbruck. With 274 beds, the St. Johann District Hospital in Tirol is a hospital for extended standard medical care in the Kitzbüheler Alps region, nestled between the Wilden Kaiser and the Kitzbüheler Horn. As one of the first fully-digitalized hospitals in Austria, the St. Johann district hospital in Tirol is a trailblazer in digital hospital documentation.
The wide offering of specialty fields in the St. Johann Hospital leads to great influx of patients, trainees, and visitors. Therefore, in the 6 waiting rooms at the entrances to the departments, it often leads to waiting times for the patients. These waiting times should be more efficiently used for the hospital and be shortened as much as possible for the patients.
With the demand of taking a leading position in other digitalization areas, the patient and visitor infotainment was overlooked. Existing facilities in waiting rooms were completely renovated and completed with a software-supported control unit. A signal processing unit for the internal TV program now makes it possible to play the DS contents also in the patient rooms. In the waiting rooms, 49 new Zoll Hotel TV devices from LG are being installed. For special cases there is the possibility to also broadcast certain sport or cultural events on the screens.
A simplified time control makes certain that the screens are set to the correct channel at opening time and at night, due to ecological considerations, are also shut down.
